Commercial License Information

For all of our licensing models, there are two components to consider: development and deployment.

Development Licensing

  • Most developers begin their experience with c-treeACE by downloading -c-treeACEExpress. The license for c-treeACE Express grants you perpetual development rights, but no deployment rights. The license is available here:

  • Developers requiring additional operational models or the complete client-side source code may instead opt to purchase a license for c-treeACE Professional. The license for c-treeACE Professional is here:

Deployment Licensing

Once your application development is complete and you are ready to deploy, the licensing path depends on whether are deploying c-treeACE Servers or one of our standalone (non-server) operational models.

c-treeACE Server Deployment

We give developers a number of options for deploying c-treeACE Servers. See our Business Models page for additional information on these models.

  • Developers purchasing c-treeACE Servers individually from FairCom ("off-the-shelf") would first accept a click-through c-treeACE Client Deployment Amendment which grants rights to deploy the client-side component of client/server applications.

    Servers would then be purchased individually and would include a c-treeACE Server License Agreement which would accompany the c-treeACE Server provided to the eventual end-user.

  • Developers purchasing significant volumes of c-treeACE Servers or who are using a Bound Server model available with c-treeACE Professional are granted the rights to duplicate and distribute the servers via a signed OEM agreement. Contact FairCom for more information on our OEM agreements.

Standalone Deployment

  • Developers who have used c-treeACE Professional to author a standalone (non-server) application would complete a signed c-treeACE Standalone Deployment Amendment.

Over 40 billion times a year, ACI software is used to process these transactions, powering the world's online payment systems.

With millions of transactions to process every day, ACI needed technology that could meet peak performance requirements and sustain maximum throughput. ACI considered a number of databases during the design phase of the project. Only the ISAM architecture of c-tree could consistently sustain the required performance levels. This performance, truly the hallmark of c-tree, continued to grow as the hardware horsepower of the project was put in place and optimized.
